The Journal of New Zealand Literature (JNZL) is the only international, fully peer-reviewed journal devoted to New Zealand literary studies. Established in 1983 and published annually, JNZL carries scholarly and critical essays on all aspects of New Zealand literature and cultural studies. It also reviews books of critical interest in the field of New Zealand literary studies, and hosts the annual JNZL Prize for a first publication in the area of New Zealand literary studies. The journal's international Editorial Advisory Board comprises eleven international scholars working in the field.

The New Zealand Slavonic Journal (ISSN 0028-8683) is a refereed annual which publishes original contributions relating to all aspects of Slavonic studies, including, but not limited to, literature, linguistics, folklore, history, and political science. We also welcome articles on comparative topics and especially contributions dealing with Russian-New Zealand and Russian-Australasian affinities and links. The NZSJ is co-edited by Henrietta Mondry and Evgeny Pavlov at the University of Canterbury, Christchurch and has an international advisory board. Between 1982 and 2003 it was edited by Irene Zohrab and between 1974 and 1982 by Patrick Waddington at Victoria University of Wellington.
