Three aspects of environmental analysis are treated in this book: the use of various analytical techniques, their applications to trace analysis of pollutants, mainly organic compounds, and quality assurance aspects, including the use of certified reference materials for quality control of the whole analytical process. The book is divided into four parts. Part I considers field sampling techniques and sample handling. Matrices, such as air, water, sediments and biota, are treated in various chapters.
