Since the late 1800s psychologists have been interested in discerning the strategies subjects employ to solve psychological tests. Until recently, however, much of this work had relied on qualitative observations. In the past few years, clinicians and researchers have developed new methodologies for quantification, leading to the emergence of a new field termed the Quantified Process Approach. The present book outlines the rationale for the emergence of this new approach and reviews the state-of-the-art research literature and up-to-date clinical applications as they pertain to the evaluation of neuropsychiatric, head injured, and learning disabled patients. When available, norms and scoring forms are included in the appendices. The book will be an invaluable resource for all neuropsychologists and clinical neuropsychologists who employ testing in their research and clinical practice.

"Practical and comprehensive, this is the first book to focus on noncredible performance in clinical contexts. Experts in the field discuss the varied causes of invalidity, how to efficiently incorporate validity tests into clinical evaluations, and how to proceed when noncredible responding is detected. Thoughtful, ethical guidance is given for offering patient feedback and writing effective reports. Population-specific chapters cover validity assessment with military personnel; children; and individuals with dementia, psychiatric disorders, mild traumatic brain injury, academic disability, and other concerns. Case examples and sample reports enhance the book's utility"--
