Seokgatap and Dabotap, the stone pagodas at Bulguksa Buddhist Temple, are known as quintessential works of Buddhist culture and stone art in Korea. Seokgatap epitomizes the style of a stone pagoda and set the standard for stone pagodas, while Dabotap was built in an unprecedented style with the most complicated technique of the time. The teachings of the Saddharmapundarika Sutra are reflected in the two stone pagodas, which shows that Buddhist doctrine played a direct role in creating formative art works.
