Nei primi otto versetti del libro dell’Apocalisse per ben tre volte si fa riferimento al tema della venuta. Già i classici greci e latini insegnavano che ogni buon autore annuncia all’inizio ciò che poi svilupperà nel corso della sua opera e che in prologo ed epilogo avviene un vero e proprio scambio diretto di messaggi e di avvertenze tra autore e lettore. Con i primi otto versetti e, quindi, anche in Apocalisse 1,7 l’autore stringe una sorta di «patto narrativo» con chi inizia a leggere affinché non vada fuori strada nell’interpretazione. Questo libro propone per la prima volta un’analisi completa e sistematica di Apocalisse 1,7 in tutte le sue sfaccettature: collocazione, struttura, composizione, testi e contesti cui si fa allusione, rimandi tematici a paralleli sparsi nel libro. La conclusione mette in evidenza anzitutto la grande inclusione cui l’autore dà vita prima collocando l’annuncio della venuta del Trafitto in apertura del libro, e poi mettendo sulle labbra di lui, alla prima persona, la promessa che ciò avverrà sollecitamente: «Ecco, io vengo presto!». In secondo luogo, un po’ a sorpresa, quella conclusione mostra come l’Apocalisse, con la sua ricchissima Cristo-logia, sia in realtà basata sulla Teo-logia e ad essa orientata.
