Doelstelling: Deze scriptie is een systematisch terminografisch onderzoek ivm vormbewerkingen en oppervlaktebewerkingen van natuursteen. De gebruikte terminologie wordt beschreven in een aantal elektronische fiches volgens het GenTerm systeem. De diverse termen worden geordend in een drietalige begrippenboom. Middelen of methode: Het onderzoek werd uitgevoerd op basis van primaire bronnen over natuursteen en natuursteenverwerking, cursussen, vaktijdschriften en brochures, prijslijsten offertes en websites van natuursteenverwerkers en handelaars. Er werden tevens informanten geraadpleegd. Resultaten: De scriptie bevat een aantal terminologische fiches die klaar zijn om ingevoerd te worden in de elektronische GenTerm database, en aansluitend een drietalige begrippenboom van de belangrijkste termen ivm natuursteenverwerking. Er is aandacht uitgegaan naar de synoniemen en collocaties die veelvuldig voorkomen in de handel van natuursteen. De scriptie geeft ook een overzicht van de meest gangbare natuursteensoorten die worden gecommercialiseerd en toegepast in de bouw.
