Abstract

Bevat:1. The road to Europe: Main street or backward alley for local governments in Europe? (Eline Van Bever, Herwig Reynaert & Kristof Steyvers) 2. Twenty years on: The Europeanization of local government (Mike Goldsmith) 3. Fluid local party systems: a bottom-up challenge for European multi-level governance? Germany as an exemplary case (Everhard Holtmann) 4. Swedish local government in multi-level governance (Stig Montin) 5. 'Resisting Europeanization?' Continuities and changes in governance in Vienna (Alexander Hamedinger) 6. Fusing regions? Sustainable regional action and European integration. Nordic regional action in a fused Europe? (Magnus Lindh & Lee Miles) 7. A fusion perspective on European integration of local government in Baden-Württemberg (Marius Guderjan) 8. Local authorities in the Council of Europe: Implications for the European Union (Jing Pan) 9. A multi-level governance analysis of urban foreign policy. The role of the EU in city-to-city cooperation (Nico van der Heiden) 10. The Europeanization of the local government in the EU multi-level governance system: The city networking paradigm and the Greek case (Antonios Karvonis) 11. Together we are strong(er). Cross-border cooperation in a EU multi-level system (Eline Van Bever, Herwig Reynaert & Kristof Steyvers) 12. From the reticular Europe to the continguous Union (Christian Lamour) 13. The (German) local level as an actor in European lobbying. Involvement and impact of the local level in the European policy-making process (Sonja Witte)
