When thinking of the future of humansettlements, Man has to take into consideration ourbiological, social, economic and cultural inheritance,as well as the inevitable evolution lying ahead ofhim. This article uses the example of the UrbanDetroit Area, in order to observe the continuity ofman's actions in building his cities. We are in themiddle of a great explosion of the cities, with whichwe so far refuse to deal in a constructive way. Theinequality in mobility, the dangers the children facein the streets, are only a few indications of theconfusion Man has found himself in. Instead ofpreventing the great city of Man forming, which isboth inevitable and natural, we should avoid itsnegative effects by protecting people, nature andculture from the explosion.
