'Principes van de Orkestratie' is de allereerste Nederlandstalige uitgave en adaptatie van Rimski-Korsakovs 'Principles of Orchestration'. Het bevat bovendien eerst een uitgebreide Inleiding tot de Orkestratie met daarin meer dan 40 nieuw uitgewerkte orkestratie-voorbeelden uitvoerig beschreven aan de hand van steeds hetzelfde fragment uit een pianosonate van W.A. Mozart.

In deze thesis wordt de implementatie van duurzaamheid in de Vlaamse industrie besproken.Duurzaam produceren betekent dat men rekening houdt met zowel de milieu-impact, hetkostenplaatje als de sociale impact van een proces.In de eerste plaats wordt een overzicht gemaakt van de wetgeving en hulpmiddelen diebedrijven aanzetten tot duurzaam produceren. Daarbij worden informatiebronnen duidelijkweergegeven, zodat dit gedeelte als naslagwerk kan dienen.Daarnaast wordt een onderzoek gevoerd om de interesse van Vlaamse bedrijven kenbaar temaken. Bedrijven konden een enquête online invullen. Er werd een responsgraad vanongeveer 13% gehaald. Een groot aandeel van de deelnemers heeft duurzaamheid op deagenda staan en een derde van de deelnemers zagen de winstgevendheid van hun bedrijfhierdoor stijgen. De lage responsiegraad duidt dat bedrijven op dit moment hun prioriteitenelders leggen, onder meer door de huidige economische crisis. De behaalde resultaten wordenvergeleken met de resultaten van de enquête uitgevoerd door de businessschool van hetMassachussetts Institute of Technology.Een derde onderdeel van dit eindwerk is het verder uitwerken van de applicatie 'GreenDesign', dat ontwikkeld wordt binnen het CAD-softwarepakket NX. De eerste grondslagenwerden hiervoor in 2010 gelegd door twee masterstudenten. In het pakket kan de gebruiker opeen eenvoudige manier de milieu-impact van het product achterhalen en de daarbijhorendekostprijs. Dit pakket kan komende jaren verder worden uitgediept. In this thesis, the implementation of sustainability in the Flemish industry is discussed.Sustainable production means that the environmental impact, costs and social impact of aproduction process are taken into account.First, an overview is given of the legislation and tools that encourage companies to implysustainability. In addition, with each section comes a series of references, so this part can beused as a source of information.Furthermore, a survey is conducted to reveal the current situation in Flemish companies. Aresponse rate of approximately 13% was achieved. A large proportion of the participants hassustainability on the agenda and a third of the participants indicated that this increased theprofitability of the company. The low response rate indicates that companies lay theirpriorities elsewhere, especially because of the current economic crisis. The results arecompared with the result of the survey conducted by the business school MIT Sloan at theMassachussetts Institute of Technology.The development of the application 'Green Design' was the third and last part of this thesis.This is an application within the Siemens NX CAD software. The first steps toward thisapplication were made in 2010 by two master students. The application calculates theenvironmental impact and costs of a product. It allows the designer to make the rightdecisions when designing an environmental friendly product. This application can be furtherdeveloped in the future.
