DIVA zal gerenommeerde designers en curatoren uitnodigen voor een hedendaagse interpretatie van de Wunderkammer, een kamer waarin een kunst- en rariteitenverzameling, objecten van over de hele wereld tentoongesteld worden. De Wonderkamer stamt uit het roemrijke verleden van de stad Antwerpen, die tot in het midden van de zeventiende eeuw weg leidde in de productie en distributie van kunst en luxe goederen. Zilverwerk, juwelen, edelstenen en exotiche rariteiten zoals kokosnoten, schelpen en felbegeerde koralen. Axel Vervoordt, na zijn befaamde reeks biennale tentoonstellingen in het Palazzo Fortuny te Venetië, zal het voortouw nemen. De catalogus die gepubliceerd zal worden voor de tentoonstelling ‘Axel Vervoordt, Wonderkamer 1’ in het nieuwe Diamantmuseum Antwerpen is de tweede uitgifte van een betaalbare serie DIVA ‘magazines’, die de afgesloten wereld van luxe kunsten en ambachten.
