Abstract

New Dominant Logic of Marketing verstanden.

Abstract

The purpose of sexual and reproductive healthcare should be the enhancement of personal relationships and a healthy sex life and not merely counselling and care related to procreation or sexually transmitted infections. Providing practical and evidence-based guidance, this handbook follows the curriculum of the joint EBCOG and ESCRH Certificate and Diploma Examination in Sexual and Reproductive Health. Short, clearly structured text focuses on the essential knowledge of each topic, allowing readers to quickly access key information. Written by trusted experts in the field, topics covered include contraception, infertility and sexual dysfunction, sexual violence and STIs. The text provides advice and practical tips for how to practice patient-centred counselling and shared decision-making. Improving the relationship between the patient and healthcare-provider leads to increased trust, adherence of advice and more satisfactory treatment for the patient.

Abstract

Sexual health campaigns to tackle the rise in sexually transmitted infections in England are at the core of sexual health charities' and grassroots organizations' work. Some of them collaborated with the author's translation students to produce inclusive translations of their sexual health content (website and multimedia content). The role of translation and localization within multicultural contexts can be seen as 'social activism' promoting sexual health and community engagement, with a view to providing wider healthcare access and information using inclusive language. This Element presents students' approaches to sexual health translation, using language as a vessel for change and striking a balance between clients' expectations, translation industry best practices, and socio-educational needs. The data analysis of the students' experiences will make the case for wider embedding of queer pedagogy approaches into the translation curriculum.

Abstract

This dissertation by Agota Malmborg explores changes in sexual function among young women using various forms of contraception. Conducted at Linköping University, the research aims to understand the impact of hormonal contraceptives on sexual desire and function, addressing the concerns of women experiencing decreased libido and psychological effects. Through qualitative and quantitative studies, including surveys and interviews, the work investigates the prevalence and nature of these effects, comparing hormonal methods like oral contraceptives and intrauterine devices with non-hormonal alternatives. The dissertation seeks to provide a scientific basis for understanding these issues, offering insights for healthcare providers in gynecology and family planning. It is intended for medical professionals, researchers, and students in the field of reproductive health.
