Abstract

Across the border: building upon a quarter century of transport research in the Benelux illustrates two recent and major trends in the field of transport research: the increased awareness of freight transportation and the increased use of (multi-disciplinary) modelling techniques. This book reflects on the current research interests of the members of the Benelux Association of Transport Economics (BIVEC/GIBET), both academic staff and professional people qualified in such fields as transport economics, logistics, regional economics, transport geography and transport law. In a number of contributions by members of the BIVEC/GIBET, the book deals with a variety of topics in these fields. In such, although it does not claim to be an exhaustive survey of transport research in the Benelux, Across the border certainly provides an insight in the present Benelux research into transport.
