This book addresses computer scientists, IT specialists, mathematicians, knowledge engineers and programmers, who are engaged in research and practice of multicriteria decision making. Fuzzy measures, also known as capacities, allow one to combine degrees of preferences, support or fuzzy memberships into one representative value, taking into account interactions between the inputs. The notions of mutual reinforcement or redundancy are modeled explicitly through coefficients of fuzzy measures, and fuzzy integrals, such as the Choquet and Sugeno integrals combine the inputs. Building on previous monographs published by the authors and dealing with different aspects of aggregation, this book especially focuses on the Choquet and Sugeno integrals. It presents a number of new findings concerning computation of fuzzy measures, learning them from data and modeling interactions. The book does not require substantial mathematical background, as all the relevant notions are explained. It is intended as concise, timely and self-contained guide to the use of fuzzy measures in the field of multicriteria decision making.

Religion and belief have played vital roles in the history of Chinese culture. This major two-volume work [Volume I: ISBN 978 1 84464 269 4 / Volume II: ISBN 978 1 84464 270 0] examines China's fascinating history of religion and the winding path that each religion has taken throughout Chinese history. The book chronologically sets out the major events and historical developments of each religion and faith that has played a part in creating modern-day China. These include early primitive religions, patriarchal religions, Chinese folk religions, Taoism, Buddhism, Islam, and Christianity. It offers deep and methodical research with contributions from some of China's most distinguished professors. Both volumes will be essential references for academic institutions involved with Asian studies and religious studies, as well as those who seek to better understand the roots of contemporary Chinese culture. *** Librarians: ebook available (Series: Religions in China) [Subject: Asian Studies, Chinese Studies, Religious Studies, Cultural History]

This book focuses on recent advances in plasma technology and its application to metals, alloys, and related materials. Surface modifications, material syntheses, cutting and surface coatings are performed using low-pressure plasma or atmospheric-pressure plasma. The contributions of this book include the discussion of a wide scope of plasma technologies applied to materials. Plasma is a versatile tool that can be applied in many types of material processing. New material processing applications of plasmas and new plasma technologies are being developed rapidly. We hope that this book can contribute new knowledge to the plasma material research society.
