This work deals with numerical simulations of fresh concrete flows. After the first introductory chapter dealing with the various physical phenomena involved in flows of fresh cementitious materials, the aim of the second chapter is to give an overview of the work carried out on simulation of flow of cement-based materials using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). This includes governing equations, constitutive equations, analytical and numerical solutions, and examples showing simulations of testing, mixing and castings. The third chapter focuses on the application of Discrete Element Method (DEM) in simulating the flow of fresh concrete. The fourth chapter is an introductory text about numerical errors both in CFD and DEM whereas the fifth and last chapter give some recent examples of numerical simulations developed by various authors in order to simulate the presence of grains or fibers in a non-Newtonian cement matrix.

Après trois décennies de politiques marquées par l’hégémonie du paradigme du développement, la Syrie s’était elle aussi engagée dans un programme de réformes néolibérales, de privatisation et de décharge de l’État sur des acteurs non étatiques. Ce recueil rassemble des travaux visant à revisiter la notion de développement telle qu’elle a évolué dans la seconde moitié du 20e siècle en Syrie, jusqu’à la veille du soulèvement de 2011. L’hypothèse qui le sous-tend est qu’une telle relecture peut éclairer les facteurs à l’origine de la crise, mais aussi aider à penser les défis de la reconstruction. Quelle que soit l’issue du conflit en cours, la question sera en effet posée des modèles économiques et sociaux qui seront promus, de la conception de l’aide qui sera mobilisée par les institutions internationales et les agences de coopération. Quels choix seront faits, quelle conception du « développement » sera proposée, quel sera le rôle de l’État ? des acteurs de la société dite civile ? Les analyses proposées ici des échecs et des limites des politiques mises en œuvre à la veille de la crise avec le soutien des bailleurs internationaux devraient inciter à la prudence et à la réflexion. Ils rappellent l’importance du monde rural et de l’équilibre entre villes et campagnes
