The content of this title is broken down into these four 'windows': Constitution;Correspondence;Chemistry;Construction; The language and drawing conventions for SqEME are dealt with as key issues. SqEME® is an open standard for developing a processed-centred architecture of an enterprise. It may be reproduced freely by any organization wishing to use it to develop a governance structure on the quality of their business processes. SqEME® Process Management is a method that facilitates discussion of the design of the organization, in a subtle but unambiguous way. Processes have to hold a prominent place in observing organizations: how are the different parts of the organization tuned to each other and how does adequate communication take place?SqEME® as a methodology views processes from four different perspectives. SqEME® calls these 'windows', by means of which one seeks for the Constitution, Chemistry, Correspondence and Construction of the enterprise. SqEME® is the result of more than twenty years experience with the management of business processes within various organizations. SqEME® has been applied successfully in industry (chemistry, automotive, construction, paper), in the business sector (IT service, healthcare), in the non-profit sector, and in public companies such as the Prosecution Counsel, County Councils and local authorities. The SqEME® Foundation is a platform for discussing the method and its application, where insights into the basic assumptions and backgrounds are shared: www.sqeme.org.

The understanding and interpretation of ancient architecture, landscapes, and art has always been viewed through an iconographic lens-a cognitive process based on traditional practices in art history. But ancient people did not ascribe their visions on canvas, rather on hills, stones, and fields. Thus, Chris Tilley argues, the iconographic approach falls short of understanding how ancient people interacted with their imagery. A kinaesthetic approach, one that uses the full body and all the senses, can better approximate the meaning that these artifacts had for their makers and today's viewers.

"As evocative patterns continue to adorn our surroundings and captivate our minds, the surging interest in pattern design - how they are inspired, produced and desired to function - is the product of a highly-evolved process. This book celebrates and explores the revival of this art form with patterns that go beyond their decorative function as they exceed our expectations with playful formations of thought-provoking depths and the creative ways they are applied. With over 250 full-page close-ups of patterns and photographs of their applications in all their exhilarating details, this book presents the most progressive currents in pattern design by the most sought-after designers and artists. In addition to organising thoughts on the stories, materials and processes behind their work, bringing greater attention and appreciation to the striking devils in the intricate detail of their innovative patterns. From the traditional with a contemporary twist, to the wholly experimental and abstract, this anthology of works is set to inspire your imagination into unfamiliar territories of pattern and surface design that stimulate our visual, mental and emotional scape."--Back cover

The last half century has seen many studies of the origin of the English village. As a cross-disciplinary enquiry this book integrates materials from geography, history, economic history, archaeology, place-name studies, anthropology and even church architecture. These provide varied foundations, but the underlying subject matter always engages with landscape studies. Beginning with a rigorous examination of evidence hidden within the surviving village and hamlet plans seen on eighteenth and nineteenth century maps, the first half of the book shows how these can be classified, mapped, analysed
