Aeronautical engineers concerned with the analysis of aircraft dynamics and the synthesis of aircraft flight control systems will find an indispensable tool in this analytical treatment of the subject. Approaching these two fields with the conviction that an understanding of either one can illuminate the other, the authors have summarized selected, interconnected techniques that facilitate a high level of insight into the essence of complex systems problems. These techniques are suitable for establishing nominal system designs, for forecasting off-nominal problems, and for diagnosing the root causes of problems that almost inevitably occur in the design process. A complete and self-contained work, the text discusses the early history of aircraft dynamics and control, mathematical models of linear system elements, feedback system analysis, vehicle equations of motion, longitudinal and lateral dynamics, and elementary longitudinal and lateral feedback control. The discussion concludes with such topics as the system design process, inputs and system performance assessment, and multi-loop flight control systems.Originally published in 1974.The Princeton Legacy Library uses the latest print-on-demand technology to again make available previously out-of-print books from the distinguished backlist of Princeton University Press. These editions preserve the original texts of these important books while presenting them in durable paperback and hardcover editions. The goal of the Princeton Legacy Library is to vastly increase access to the rich scholarly heritage found in the thousands of books published by Princeton University Press since its founding in 1905.

Neurofeedback techniques are used as treatment for a variety of psychological disorders including attention deficit disorder, dissociative identity disorder, depression, drug and alcohol abuse, and brain injury. Resources for understanding what the technique is, how it is used, and to what disorders and patients it can be applied are scarce. An ideal tool for practicing clinicians and clinical psychologists in independent practice and hospital settings, this book provides an introduction to neurofeedback/neurotherapy techniques.Key Features* Details advantages of quantitative EEG o

"Unmanned marine vehicles (UMVs) is a collective term commonly used to describe autonomous underwater vehicles, remotely operated vehicles, semi-submersibles, and unmanned surface craft. UMVs are heavily used in the military, civilian, and scientific communities for undertaking designated missions whilst either operating autonomously and/or in co-operation with other types of vehicles. Advanced marine vehicles are increasing their capabilities and the degree of autonomy more and more in order to perform more sophisticated maritime missions. Remotely operated vehicles are no longer cost-effective since they are limited by economic support costs, and the presence and skills of the human operator. Alternatively, autonomous surface and underwater vehicles have the potential to operate with greatly reduced overhead costs and level of operator intervention. An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a drone, is an aircraft without a human pilot aboard. UAVs are a component of an unmanned aircraft system (UAS); these include a UAV, a ground-based controller, and a system of communications between the two. Compared to manned aircraft, UAVs were originally used for missions too "dull, dirty or dangerous" for humans. While they originated mostly in military applications, their use is rapidly expanding to commercial, scientific, recreational, agricultural, and other applications such as policing, peacekeeping and surveillance, product deliveries, aerial photography, agriculture, smuggling, and drone racing. The main objective of this edited book is to address various challenges and issues pertinent to the intelligent control of UMVs and UAVs."--Provided by publisher.

"This book's aim is to explore the Robotic Platform Control with Atmega328 and NuttyFi based Internet of Things (IoT). IoT is network of networks and analytics system which exploits sensing, big data and artificial intelligence technology for complete system or service. IoT has applications across industries due to its unique flexibility and ability to be suitable in any environment. This book provides the basic knowledge of mobile apps with their design steps and programs. The objective of this book is to discuss the various methods to control the robotic platform where the Internet of Things plays an important role. This text is beneficial for people who want to get started with hardware-based robotics prototypes using the IoT. Mobile platform is one of the most popular devices. It is designed for sports robots (football, volleyball etc.), rescue operations (fire-fighting, person or object finding etc.) and many other uses. This book discusses the different components required in the design process of the robot"--

This volume contains the proceedings of the eleventh International Conference on Intelligent Autonomous Systems (IAS-11) at the University of Ottawa in Canada. As ever, the purpose of the IAS conference is to bring together leading international researchers with an interest in all aspects of the autonomy and adaptivity of artificial systems. This year the conference reflects in particular a current trend: the symbiotic interaction of humans with intelligent systems. Of the 35 papers submitted for this year's conference, 25 have been accepted for presentation. These papers cover a wide spectrum of research in autonomous intelligent systems including interactive systems, learning, perception, localization and mapping, navigation planning and distributed systems. This proceedings includes all the accepted papers and reflects the wide variety of topics of current concern to all those involved in the use, research and development of intelligent autonomous systems.

"Spacecraft Attitude Control: A Linear Matrix Inequality Approach solves problems for spacecraft attitude control systems using convex optimization and, specifically, through a linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach. High-precision pointing and improved robustness in the face of external disturbances and other uncertainties are requirements for the current generation of spacecraft. This book presents an LMI approach to spacecraft attitude control and shows that all uncertainties in the maneuvering process can be solved numerically. It explains how a model-like state space can be developed through a mathematical presentation of attitude control systems, allowing the controller in question to be applied universally."--
