Abstract

Ce travail aborde la gamification appliquée à la gestion des ressources humaines sous l’angle du processus de la gamification tel qu’envisagé par un concepteur de progiciel ludifié. La gamification y est définie et les acteurs y prenant part sont énumérés. Est ensuite présenté un cadre théorique approchant la gamification comme un processus incluant des mécaniques, dynamiques et émotions dans le but de provoquer un changement comportemental. Cette théorie, le cadre MDE, sera vérifiée au travers du cas pratique de l’application Happyformance. En conclusion de cette analyse, il sera suggéré d’ajouter au modèle la distinction entre mécaniques fondamentales, mécaniques de support et gameful design.

Abstract

This volume examines the applicability of landscape urbanism theory in contemporary landscape architecture practice by bringing together ecology and architecture in the built environment. Using participatory planning of green infrastructure and application of nature-based solutions to address urban challenges, landscape urbanism seeks to reintroduce critical connections between natural and urban systems. In light of ongoing developments in landscape architecture, the goal is a paradigm shift towards a landscape that restores and rehabilitates urban ecosystems. Nine contributions examine a wide range of successful cases of designing livable and resilient cities in different geographical contexts, from the United States of America to Australia and Japan, and through several European cities in Italy, Portugal, Estonia, and Greece. While some chapters attempt to conceptualize the interconnections between cities and nature, others clearly have an empirical focus. Efforts such as the use of ornamental helophyte plants in bioretention ponds to reduce and treat stormwater runoff, the recovery of a poorly constructed urban waterway or participatory approaches for optimizing the location of green stormwater infrastructure and examining the environmental justice issue of equative availability and accessibility to public open spaces make these innovations explicit. Thus, this volume contributes to the sustainable cities goal of the United Nations.

Research papers are provided relating to the characterization of their composition of volatiles and the sensory profile; mineral composition and bioavailability; changes in bioactive components (chlorophylls) by processing; and new strategies to reduce sodium and additives for stabilizing the organoleptic properties and avoiding defects in table olives. Other research papers are included in relation to microbiological and chemical changes in table olives during spontaneous or controlled fermentation employing different cultivars, and the optimized use of starter cultures for the improvement of the different fermentative processes. In addition, this book includes an overview of the main technologies used for olive fermentation, including the role of lactic acid bacteria and yeasts characterizing this process, and of the processing and storage effects on the nutritional and sensory properties of table olives.

Abstract

The concept of cross-cultural perspectives in research in food is important in general and particularly so in relation to human perception in food and health. Food concepts are very different across different jurisdictions. Different markets and cultures have varying perspectives on what is considered a palatable, acceptable, or useful food or food product; in simple terms, one size does not at all in the majority of cases. Specific markets thus need targeted food design, to be successful from a myriad of perspectives. In this Special Issue anthology "Food, Health and Safety in Cross-Cultural Consumer Contexts", we bring together articles that show the wide range of studies from fundamental to market applicability currently in focus in sensory and consumer science in food, health, and safety cross-cultural contexts. From the included perspectives, it is abundantly clear that there is a need for much knowledge related to future food design linked to cross-cultural contexts and that this will continue to be critical to the success of food transfer in global food markets.

Abstract

De Europese richtlijn 2004/48/EC beoogde een hoog, gelijkwaardig en homogeen niveau van bescherming van de intellectuele eigendomsrechten te introduceren in alle lidstaten van de Europese Unie. De Belgische implementatie van de richtlijn ligt intussen 10 jaar achter ons. In het boek en tijdens de bijhorende studiedag wordt een overzicht gegeven van de omzetting, zowel in de wetgeving als in de rechtspraak, en wordt nagegaan hoe het nu met de handhaving van de intellectuele eigendomsrechten in ons land gesteld is. Het boek wordt gekenmerkt door een veelheid van auteurs met diverse juridische achtergronden, zoals academici, magistraten en advocaten. Zij bespreken verschillende relevante onderwerpen en trachten een inzicht te verschaffen in kwesties zoals : Het mededelen van persoonsgegevens en het recht op informatie ; Het oplegging van maatregelen tegen tussenpersonen ; De maatregelen die de stakingsrechter kan uitspreken ; De openbaarmaking van rechtelijke uitspraken ; De doeltreffendheid van arbitrage in geschillen over intellectuele rechten ; De kosten en erelonen in geschillen over intellectuele rechten.
