Abstract

Sind die Bestimmungen zur Laienpredigt eine Anleitung zur Schizophrenie? Das jedenfalls meint ein Autor, der sich zu einer entsprechenden Neuregelung dieser Frage in der Schweiz im Jahr 2015 äußert. Das offizielle Verbot der Laienpredigt sorgt immer noch für Aufregung.Das kirchenrechtliche und rechtsgeschichtliche Werk fragt nach der Entstehung und Begründung des Laienpredigtverbots. So untersucht es z.B. Entscheidungen mittelalterlicher Synoden, aber auch Dokumente des II. Vatikanischen Konzils. Dabei stellt sich heraus, dass es im Kern gar nicht um die Predigt geht, sondern um einen Streit um das Kirchenbild. Daher wurde die Frage der Laienpredigt immer mehr zu einem Konflikt um die Kompetenzen von Priestern und Laien hochstilisiert. Tatsächlich muss es aber um die Frage gehen, wer eine Sendung zur Predigt erhalten kann. Das Konzil hat hierfür die Türen für Laien weit geöffnet. Der Impuls von Papst Franziskus, manche Fragen auf teilkirchlicher und nicht auf weltkirchlicher Ebene zu lösen, eröffnet neue Perspektiven.
