An increased incidence of hypospadias is found globally, and the current management techniques and research studies of hypospadiology face significant challenges and limitations. This book sheds light on the recent struggles encountered in hypospadias-related clinical practice and research methodologies. Various writings were incorporated by people on different disciplines linked to the overall phases of diagnosis and care of hypospadias patients. Special attention is given to new perspectives from different interrelated disciplines trying to overcome these obstacles. This book fills in a void in the new related discoveries traditionally given scant consideration in the currently dominated literature. It provides a useful source for the recent updates, ongoing controversies, and future research trajectories in hypospadiology, which benefits pediatric, plastic, reconstructive, and urology surgeons and trainees and helps examiners focus on updated materials.

The book provides an update on several pathological conditions of the CNS that require neurosurgical treatment. The different chapters, written by the most eminent international scientists and clinicians in the field of neuroscience, offer a critical assessment of the relevant nosographic entities that are the subject of current scientific debate. The book opens with an analysis of the new WHO classification of brain tumors then describing intracranial tumors of the first year of life, as well as of the technical aspects of neurooncological surgery. The various chapters take into consideration spinal problems, the management of intracranial arachnoid cysts (still a very controversial subject), hydrocephalus, and the rational concepts at the basis of the midface advancement in crani0synostosis. An interesting chapter presents the latest advances in clinical prediction in neurosurgery. As with the previous volume in the series, this book represents an important contribution to the advancement of neurosurgical specialties. .

This book focuses on the management strategies of complex conditions of frail pediatric patients. The clinical condition of frailty is usually seen as the physiological and multidimensional decline of organ systems related to age: paradoxically, a frailty condition can also occur in children as a disability resulting from various congenital or acquired diseases. The fragile patients are more vulnerable to developing severe clinical events and often need surgical interventions. Moreover, those patients have significant morbidity and lower quality of life. The improvement in managing fragile patients has improved their life expectancy, but in most health care systems, the passage from childhood to adulthood is a critical point for the lack of medical figures able to provide the continuity of care. The book aims to provide guidance for dealing with medical and surgical emergencies and to develop short and long-term treatment strategies, and will provide an analysis of the different and the most innovative techniques. This book will be an invaluable tool for Pediatric surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Critical Care Physicians, Hospital and family Pediatricians, nurses, Physiotherapists and Psychologists.

This book provides a concise overview of neonatal imaging. After a short clinical introduction on the crucial role of imaging in diagnosing and treating neonatal conditions, it discusses the various methods (ultrasound, digital radiography, fluoroscopy, CT, and MRI) available and explains in detail how they have to be adapted for neonatal applications. Chapters feature imaging findings and differential diagnoses for the most common neonatal conditions. Additionally, some relevant aspects of foetal imaging are presented. Written by an interdisciplinary team, Imaging in Neonates is a practical resource for daily use in the ward for all medical professionals involved in treating neonates. .

Retroperitoneal Robotic and Laparoscopic Surgery provides urologists with an easy way to learn the extraperitoneal alternative when performing laparoscopic or robot assisted procedures. There are significant technical differences between intra-peritoneal and retroperitoneal surgery. There are occasions, particularly with a history of prior intra-abdominal surgeries, when the retroperitoneal route is not only less invasive, but provides an efficient and effective way of performing the operation. Retroperitoneal Robotic and Laparoscopic Surgery is a step-by-step guide of all extraperitoneal laparoscopic and robot assisted procedures. This book will support beginners in making the transition from open extraperitoneal to laparoscopic or robotic extraperitoneal procedures. It is also a valuable reference tool to further assist the intermediate and advanced laparoscopist to expand their skills working in the extraperitoneal space.
