Zur sicheren Nutzung dieser Geräte dient eine Integration in Fahrerinformationssysteme (FIS). Die hierarchischen Menüstrukturen bestehender FIS sind jedoch für eine flexible Integration nur bedingt geeignet. Als Lösungsansatz wird daher eine Kombination aus Objektorientierung, Such-Interaktion, adaptiver hierarchischer Menüstruktur und Informations-Navigation (Browsing) verwendet.
