This study frames the impacts of plastic packaging as a public health issue and investigates the manipulation of psychological distance in messages on perceived level of threat and willingness to anti-consume plastic packaging. Respondents (N = 155) to the survey questionnaire were assigned to one of two conditions: one motion graphic framed as psychologically proximal and the other framed as psychologically distal. Analysis revealed that a public health framing perspective has prospect in influencing emotional and cognitive mechanisms. ER -
