"Film critic David Sterritt presents an interdisciplinary exploration of the Beat Generation, its intersections with mainstream and experimental film, and the interactions of all of these with American society and the culture of the '50s. Una monografía colectiva sobre el mito del Tenorio en la literatura española del siglo XX. Recorre casi todos los géneros literarios (piezas teatrales, ensayos y relatos) y acoge también un capítulo dedicado al cine. Desde el año 1900 hasta 1994 se recogen estudios sobre obras de todas las estéticas y todas las éticas que lo han mitificado o desmitificado. Los trabajos que aquí se reúnen se distribuyen por géneros y combinan estudios sobre autores/obras de primera fila con otros menos relevantes u olvidados, con algunas rarezas bibliográficas, con la presencia de la literatura del exilio y con donjuanesas y donjuanistas femeninas.
