Der Siebenjährige Krieg war eine Katastrophe für das Ansehen Frankreichs. Um den Vorrang der französischen Monarchie im internationalen Staatensystem wiederherzustellen und das Land vor dem Bankrott zu retten, setzte eine intensive Diskussion über Reformideen ein. Die Selbstinszenierung Friedrichs II. weckte in der französischen Öffentlichkeit ein besonders lebhaftes Interesse für Preußen. Aber inwiefern konnte der als erfolgreich wahrgenommene preußische Staat als Modell in dieser Reformdebatte wirken? Die Studie zeigt, über welche Wege und Träger und mit welchen Mitteln in den letzten Jahrzehnten des Ancien Régime der Wissenstransfer von Preußen nach Frankreich stattfand. Die Grenzen dieses Wissenstransfers werden ebenso dargelegt wie die Funktion, die der Verweis auf Preußen innerhalb selbstreferenzieller Diskussionen um die »Regeneration« der französischen Monarchie tatsächlich eingenommen hat.

Der Band widmet sich der ideologiekritischen Rekonstruktion des antisemitischen Bewusstseins und der historischen Darstellung der Modifikationen antisemitischer Ausserungsformen, um davon ausgehend Bedingungen und Moglichkeiten fur eine gegenwartsbezogene Kritik des Antisemitismus auszuloten. Ausgehend vom kategorischen Imperativ Adornos verbindet der Band theoretische Analyzen mit praxisbezogenen Uberlegungen zur Bekampfung des Antisemitismus in all seinen aktuellen Erscheinungsformen. Ein besonderer Fokus wird auf den israel bezogenen und islamistischen Antisemitismus gerichtet. Prof. Dr. Stephan Grigat leitet das Centrum fur Antisemitismus- und Rassismusstudien (CARS) in Aachen, in dessen Kontext die Beitrage entstanden sind. For five years during World War II, Denmark was occupied by Germany. While the Danish reaction to this period of its history has been extensively discussed in Danish-language publications, it has not until now received a thorough treatment in English. Set in the context of modern Danish foreign relations, and tracing the country's responses to successive crises and wars in the region, Danish Reactions to German Occupation brings a full overview of the occupation to an English-speaking audience. Holbraad carefully dissects the motivations and ideologies driving conduct during the occupation, and his authoritative coverage of the preceding century provides a crucial link to understanding the forces behind Danish foreign policy divisions. Analysing the conduct of a traumatised and strategically exposed small state bordering on an aggressive great power, the book traces a development from reluctant cooperation to active resistance. In doing so, Holbraad surveys and examines the subsequent, and not yet quite finished, debate among Danish historians about this contested period, which takes place between those siding with the resistance and those more inclined to justify limited cooperation with the occupiers--and who sometimes even condone various acts of collaboration.

Publié en 1913, le Tableau politique de la France de l’Ouest d’André Siegfried s’est imposé comme un ouvrage fondateur de la sociologie électorale, de géographie électorale et plus globalement de l’étude de l’« opinion politique ». La figure elle-même d’André Siegfried est apparue comme majeure à la fois en science politique et en géographie. Cette célébration du centenaire du Tableau d’André Siegfried fut l’occasion d’un bilan, à la fois de l’évolution politique de l’ouest français depuis 1913 (en particulier la spectaculaire mutation à gauche de la Bretagne, le maintien d’une tradition modérée face aux extrêmes, l’évolution de l’influence de la religion, la transformation des opinions urbaines), mais également de la postérité d’André Siegfried face aux débats idéologiques et méthodologiques traversant les sciences électorales. Cet ouvrage, issu d’un colloque tenu à Cerisy-la-Salle en juin 2013, rassemble les contributions de politistes, géographes, sociologues, historiens, français et étrangers, dressant à la fois un portrait inédit de l’héritage de Siegfried et de son modèle explicatif, une mise en perspective historique et géographique de l’évolution des lieux siegfriediens emblématiques (canton de Talmont, vallée du Layon…), pour aboutir in fine à une discussion renouvelée sur les modèles explicatifs des opinions politiques spatialisées.
