The dramatic increase in the incidence of skin cancers is a major concern worldwide and relates not only to melanoma but also to other cancers, including Merkel cell and basal cell carcinomas. Recently, the WHO has summarized the genetic and pathologic features of skin cancers in its book series. However, the WHO's proposed classification of certain disease entities, such as basal cell carcinomas, is still novel for many dermatologists. This book covers the entire spectrum of cutaneous malignancies in accordance with the new WHO classification. Epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, and therapy are all reviewed in detail, and care is taken to link the diagnostic and genetic features to optimized therapeutic strategies. In order to reflect the worldwide activities in the field, the editors have brought together leading researchers and clinicians from every continent to communicate their individual experiences and expertise. The result is a unique compilation of current medical and molecular knowledge about skin cancers. It is anticipated that this book will remain a basic reference for many years to come.

The demand for outpatient cutaneous surgery procedures has increased at a rapid rate over the last several decades. Cosmetic, oncology, and reconstructive procedures are being performed by primary care physicians and a variety of specialists in different disciplines such as dermatology, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, and otolaryngology. As the number of cutaneous surgery procedures rises, so will the rate of complications, which are inevitable and occur even with the most skilled and meticulous surgeons. This comprehensive text will enable the practicing physician to formulate a preoperative strategy to not only prevent complications before they occur but also to properly diagnose and manage complications when they arise, allowing the physician to provide optimal care to the patient.

Neurocutaneous diseases are a wide group of conditions that affect the nervous system but appear as lesions of the skin. Some of the more common entities have variable forms of expression that can confuse the diagnosis; for the rare conditions it is difficult to find descriptions in the literature. Recent insights into their cellular, biochemical and molecular genetic bases have shown the essential need for a new nosology and updated genotype-phenotype correlations. The book provides an authoritative source of knowledge about these difficult problems and bridges the gap between clinical recognition and the new molecular medicine. The editors, distinguished clinicians and geneticists, assembled an internationally renowned group of collaborators, many of them the experts who first described a particular disorder or established its present accepted definition. They have written a practical, comprehensive guide to the recognition, investigation and management of more than 60 recognised phakomatoses.

Autoimmune disorders of the skin remain an enigma for many clinicians and scientists not familiar with these mostly severe and chronic diseases. The book provides an overview and the latest information on the broad spectrum of cutaneous autoimmune disorders for clinicians, scientists and practitioners in dermatology, medicine, rheumatology, ENT, pediatrics and ophthalmology. The book is unique since it presents the state-of-the-art knowledge on pathophysiology, clinical diagnosis and management of these disorders provided by the world experts in the field. The primary intention is to broaden the understanding of the pathophysiology of cutaneous autoimmune disorders and to provide a practical guide to how to identify and handle these conditions. The book is illustrated with many tables, illustrative figures and clinical color photographs. The third edition has been thoroughly updated and extended by chapters on paraneoplastic cutaneous syndromes, atopic dermatitis and autoimmunity and Skin manifestations of rheumatic diseases.

In recent years the relevance of non-invasive bioimaging techniques in the field of melanoma screening has steadily increased. In the new era of clinicoimaging diagnosis, reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) will have a major impact on the diagnosis and management of neoplastic and inflammatory skin diseases. This book focuses on the use and significance of in vivo RCM for non-invasive high-resolution imaging of the skin. All of the chapters in this hands-on guide are generously illustrated with numerous confocal images and structured in a reader-friendly way. The contents include: ¢ detailed information on the most relevant and up-to-date aspects of RCM, ¢ schematic drawings summarizing and explaining the most important RCM criteria, and ¢ a chapter specifically devoted to bridging the gap between dermoscopy, RCM, and histopathology. At the end of each chapter, core messages recapitulate the most pertinent aspects. Reflectance Confocal Microscopy for Skin Diseases will be a valuable resource for all physicians involved in the diagnosis and treatment of neoplastic and inflammatory skin diseases
